Radiance Awaits: The Best Summer Holiday Skincare Essentials

Hello lovely people! Wow, have I got a skincare and beauty blog post for you today! It's standard that many of us are prepping, planning and jetting off on our jolly holidays over the coming weeks and months. Days by the pool and sea, golden summer sands, bronzed skin, warm sea breeze, beautiful weather and the tropical music of the nearby beach bar, ahhh, we can feel it already!... Exciting times are undoubtedly ahead and I'm sure that lots of you will strongly agree when I say that the prepping of all your summer holiday skincare and beauty essentials is one of the most exciting pre-holiday activities. I love to tailor my skincare and beauty routine accordingly to best suit the location which I will be holidaying in. If you are going somewhere sunny and will be dipping in and out of the pool, sea and catching those all important summer rays, then your skincare needs to support your skin through this whole process. You may have seen some of my skincare tips over on my Instagram page. You can check that out here. Nourishment to replenish any lost essential skin oils is key for both your face and body and of course some high quality SPF is a must. When it comes to the evenings when you want to look put together for dinner, watching the sunset whilst enjoying a cocktail and exploring your resort by moonlight, your holiday glam makeup needs to be effortlessly enhancing yet totally effective at delivering all of your beauty requirements, and for that your skincare routine needs to be flawless to ensure the skin is fully prepared for the makeup. I love to make an effort on holiday, but I think it's important that it doesn't take you hours to apply your evening make up because let's face it, you want to be out of your hotel and immersing yourself in all that your surroundings have to offer. Luckily for you, I also have some staple makeup pieces which I am currently adoring this summer and which will no doubt be packed in my capsule holiday makeup bag (this blog post is coming later this week so get excited for that!). So today let's focus on the face and body skincare. If you are currently trying to pick the skincare essentials which you will be relying upon this summer, this super comprehensive guide covers everything your routine could require and will help you to pick your new favourite products which you'll reach for time and time again... So without further ado, let's dive right into this summer holiday skincare and beauty guide for 2019!

Olivoderm
Mediterranean cosmetics and skincare
I'm kick starting this feature with a Mediterranean medley of skincare and hair care, all of which is natural, cruelty-free, many products are vegan (some include honey which is the only reason they aren't all vegan) and all are enriched with the sun-drenched goodness of organic olives, olive oil, volcano extract and coconut. If you have read the beauty section of Coconut Couture before, then you'll already know that I simply adore natural skincare products. They are more gentle to the skin and I think they work the best. Olivoderm have an amazing selection of skincare for both the body and face, and these products are ideal for replenishing moisture and helping to condition the skin, especially after days by the sea or pool. If any of these products sound like the kind of things you know your skin would love, you can also use my code OLIVOSUMMER10 to get yourself 10% off at the checkout too at www.olivoderm.co.uk

Before you go on holiday, it's a great idea to prep your skin for what's in store for it. Most of us will have a somewhat elaborate pre-holiday beauty routine as we want to look and of course feel our best. I like to buff my skin so that it is fresh and ready for some sunshine! Using a gentle exfoliator basically helps to remove any dead skin cells and re-texture the skin so that it is smooth, even and soft to the touch. The fabulous Body Scrub by Olivoderm is the perfect product to do just that. Being all natural, it uses olive and almond stones, organic olive oil and honey extract. Needless to say, it smells AMAZING, edible even! None of Olivoderm's products have Parabens, Propylene Glycol or SLS in them. They are also micro-bead free which is good news, as we have all heard about what unnecessary plastics are doing to our oceans. Shopping natural is vital for our environment and for sustainability. Used twice a week exfoliation helps your skin to renew and feel velvet soft. Win win!

The Volcanic Body and Hair serum is a holiday must. Being multi-purpose is not only perfect for capsule packing and helping you scale down your beauty kit, it is also really innovative. It's the first body and hair care product which I have found and being packed with nutrients like organic olive oil, volcano extract and hyaluronic acid (a skincare must for locking in moisture and helping to plump up the skin and leave hair superiorly moisturised), it had gently combined all the benefits of natural oils along with mineral-rich volcanic ingredients for a powerful skincare hit. You simply use it by applying it onto clean skin and in the ends of hair for nourishment. Simple yet effective.

Their Body Oil is another intensely nourishing product which will transform the texture of your skin, leaving it more smooth and supple to the touch. You can apply it onto either wet or dry skin and it will absorb once lightly massaged into the skin. Again packed with natural ingredients like organic olive oil, Argan, Grapeseed and Vitamin E which nourishes the skin, it'll leave you silky soft. Not only this, the oil is able to help protect the skin from oxidative stress as well. (This is basically means your skin is supported as it detoxifies after exposure to the elements it faces on a daily basis including the weather and chemicals from pollution, and it is also protected from excess damage which these things can cause.) Shop the Body Oil online.

For those who prefer a lotion-type moisturiser, then the Olivoderm Body Milk is the one for you. enriched with Greek organic olive oil and olive leaves extract that hydrates and nourishes the skin, it creates a smooth layer of moisture for long lasting and light-weight hydration for satin soft, supple skin. For holidays, this could be used as a natural alternative to after sun as it will do the job of locking in moisture to skin which has been dried and needs replenishment.

Use the code OLIVOSUMMER10 for 10% off. Code can be applied at the checkout.

If you thought that was it for hydration, then think again! Olivoderm also have an amazing collection of Body Butter. I have both the Coconut and Organic Olive Oil varieties and let me tell you, they not only smell incredible, they are packed with skin supporting goodness which is perfect for replenishing the skin's moisture after a beach day! Both have olive extract and vitamin E added to them which helps to create their rich composition. The coconut oil revitalises sin and helps to restore its natural elasticity and olive helps to tone and nourish and repair the skin and is full of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties as well. Their luscious formulas are perfect for very dry skin too. Also, if you love a bit of fake tan, then these are perfect for nourishing areas like knees, ankles and elbows which are typically prone to dryness and are the places where tan tends to 'stick'.

Shop the rejuvenating Body Butter with Coconut and the hydrating Body Butter with Organic Olive Oil via the Olivoderm website.

Last but not least from Olivoderm, the Refreshing Body Mist with Olive Leaves and Fucus extracts is a total treat. It is best spritzed directly onto the skin straight after a bath or shower as it is not an over powering aroma. Simply, it adds a soft, subtly sweet and indulgent scent which melds perfectly with the skin and innovatively it also has a moisturising agent in it. It actually helps to soothe the skin (the first fragrance which I have heard that does this).

Norvell Tanning
If you love a pre-holiday glow, then I think this next trio of products are going to be your dream team!  The Norvell Professional Venetian tan '4 Faces' is a sunless tanning spray designed to transform your complexion into a golden wonder. I know that face tan can be a bit tricky to apply so I'm going to explain how this is done. You lightly spray the tan onto a makeup sponge (I'd reserve one specifically for tan purposes!) and then gently blend into the face, neck and carefully into the hairline. To touch up the tan, the same process can be easily repeated. If you're away and don't intend to be wearing foundation during the day (I mean it's hot and face make up isn't always practical day to day whilst abroad) then this will give you the tan boost without the need for heavy coverage which a foundation provides.

For the body, I received a really innovative product which I honestly think is a tan game changer. Like primer before makeup, there is a primer before tan and it's now a step I wouldn't choose to be without. The Vivid Amplify PH equaliser gets rid of any unwanted orange and sets the tone for a brilliant bronze tan. It looks like a deep tan one each step is complete but so natural honestly, which is exactly what I personally like!

The Strictly Come Dancing Dazzle Shimmering Mist is a perfect tan perfecting last step for added glitz and glamour. The bronze reflects add a beautiful shimmering glow which really accentuates a tan. I love applying this on my legs for definition but it works fab in hair too!

L'Occitane and Erborian
Okay so I have always loved Erborian and L'Occitane's products. The quality goes without saying and for the summer, I have just found two new favourites that I really want to share with you all. The Matte Crème by Erborian, which is a lightweight mattifying face cream with a blur effect is amazing as a primer. This 5-in-1 product helps to even out the complexion and mattify the skin.

The combination of its high-tech formulation and the benefits of White Water Lily extract from Korea, known for its mattifying properties, makes it a true beauty essential, perfect for the summer too, as makeup can be more of a challenge to help last when it's warm.

This multi-benefit, hybrid beauty product glides onto the skin, leaving an imperceptible film onto the skin that helps to:-

1. Blur the appearance of imperfections and pores, with a soft-focus effect.
2. Even out skin tone and give an ultra-matte finish.
3. Refine
skin's texture.
4. Maintain the skin's barrier function, to hold in moisture.
5. Mattify to prepare skin for makeup.

When I've used this, my complexion looks more even and matte, any pores are visibly blurred and the skin appears flawless, with a natural-looking, powdery finish.
Honestly, the best base your makeup could ask for and it smells light and floral which I love.

From L'Occitane, the Amande Delightful Body Balm is an indulgent skincare treat you need to know about. It glides onto the skin and is perfect for massage. It will help you pamper yourself with pure indulgence, and who wouldn't want that!? I love the fact it comes in a traditional, vintage style tin as well as it means the packaging can actually be used as a jewellery tin after you've used the product!

"Its exquisite texture melts deliciously onto your skin, enveloping it in a veil of comfort and nourishment. Formulated with a perfect blend of almond butter and almond oil from Provence, it leaves skin feeling nourished, more supple and incredibly soft, while its delicious, subtle scent immerses you in a feeling of absolute well-being." - L'Occitane

Tropic Skincare
When you pack your beauty kit for a holiday, what's one of the first things you think you will 100% be needing? (hint: if there's going to be sunshine, you'll be needing it for sure!...) Of course it's sun cream and of the highest SPF. Although most of the time, we simply purchase a sun cream from a shop and use it on our body and face, that's not always the best idea, especially if your skin is prone to breakouts caused by excess oils or if it is simply just reactive to different fragranced products. Tropic Skincare's sun protection range is packed with natural skincare goodness and is kind and gentle to the skin on both the body and face.

The Sun Care Discovery Kit + Sun Balm (SPF 50) is an amazing collection of skincare must haves for your holidays. With a tube of factor 50 and one of factor 30 Sun Shade (sun cream), a Sun Soothe (after sun) and a factor 50 Sun Balm, perfect for on the go top ups (we all know the struggle of a sunburnt nose, ears or lobster shoulders where a bag has rubbed off our SPF!) it is small enough to pop in your bag and take anywhere with you! I always take a small tub of sun cream out with me if I am out for the day whilst on holiday or even in the UK if I know we are in for a sizzling summer's day! The Sun Shade creams are made naturally with illawarra plum extract, kahai and roucou oils and being water resistant too, it's a summer skincare dream and a complete holiday essential. Similarly, the Sun Soothe cooling aftersun lotion is made with aloe vera, bisabolol and calendula extracts which help to soothe and simultaneously hydrate aggravated and dehydrated skin. The product also helps to enhance your natural tan so you're skin looks as healthy and 'holiday-ed' as possible!

"If you suffer from skin sensitivity and you're prone to redness after sun exposure, this ultra-soothing, hydrating gel-lotion is your answer to holiday happy skin!" - Susie Ma

S5 Skincare
So I absolutely adore S5 Skincare. Their products have actually helped to transform my skin and leave it healthy and radiant, so when I received these travel size versions of their three serums, I was really excited to include them in this feature, as I use this range everyday! You may have seen me talking about their Calm and Purity serums in my recent post. This time, I have the Purity, Renew and Replenish varieties.

The Purity Serum is a powerhouse of anti-blemish, bioactive ingredients which cleanse the skin to prevent harmful, blemish causing bacteria to cause any issues. Breakouts happen but they don't need to be happening all that often if you really cleanse and nourish your skin with products which actually tackle the main cause of them. A personal favourite of mine and something I reach for everyday.

The Replenish Serum is an advanced antioxidant-rich oil formulated to nourish dry, flaky and redness prone skin. It glides onto the skin to leave it feeling quenched, which is ideal for dryness of course. It includes these amazing ingredients:-

Arctic Sea Buckthorn: improves skin elasticity.

High Altitude Rosehip Oil: promotes cellular renewal.

Biomimetic Lipids: help restore the skin barrier and lock in moisture.

The Renew Serum
As the name of this skincare wonder suggests, it assists the skin in its renewal process and is especially good for prematurely ageing skin which is prone to stress, may that be from the environment or otherwise. It effectively reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as firms the skin up. It also has such a beautiful scent. It is almost fruity but unlike any fruit you will have smelt before, as it is full of incredible botanical ingredients which are from a whole myriad of different extreme climates, which is one of the reasons their plant properties are so incredible for the skin, because they help the plants to thrive in some of the harshest climates in the world. Some of these ingredients include:-

Antarctic Glycoproteins: reduce the appearance of wrinkles and support collagen production .

Wild Indigo: boosts luminosity and regulates skin stress.

Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid: hydrates, soothes and plumps up the appearance of wrinkles.

Evolve Organic Beauty
Another brand which you'll have head me talk about before is Evolve Organic Beauty. You can check out my previous post on some of their products here. Today I'm talking about two products which work harmoniously together to leave your body looking and feeling summer ready. The Tropical Blossom Body Polish and Body Butter both have natural Tahitian coconut Monoi in them and let me tell you, they smell incredible!

The Body Polish is perfect for use either before you apply sunless tan, so that your tan has a nice and smooth base to be applied onto, or alternatively before jetting off on your summer adventures where a real tan awaits!

'This oil based body polish contains fine particles of organic sugar to buff skin to smooth perfection and natural Tahitian coconut Monoi macerated in exotic Tahitian blossoms of Gardenia. Natural sugar extracts gently combine with water to turn the clear balm into a creamy milk that rinses away clean, leaving skin smooth, soft and fragranced with exotic natural hibiscus. Soap free.' - Evolve Organic Beauty

The Tropical Blossom Body Butter is the perfect skin indulgence for after you have buffed yourself to perfection. I love using natural get rich body butters as they not only smell incredible in a botanical and holistic sense, I can really tell that they are doing good to my skin. Plus we all know of the soulful benefits of aromatherapy and essential oils.

'This soft organic body butter contains nourishing organic shea butter and natural Tahitian coconut Monoi macerated in exotic blossoms of Gardenia. Leaves skin smooth, soft and fragranced with exotic natural hibiscus.'

Natural Elements
I recently received some really lovely products from Natural Elements and what I really liked about them was not only did I receive a skincare set amongst the products, meaning I know for sure that they will work really well together to deliver fabulous skincare results, I also was kindly send over a skincare book which included lots of details about skin wellness, product information and general information on holistic wellness and facts like ageing is both prevented and treated by using their products. The products I receive are perfect for virtually all skin types because no matter if you have a dry or oily complexion, your skin requires moisturising and lots of TLC to ensure it looks healthy and radiant. Natural Elements also only use recyclable packaging and are both vegetarian and vegan friendly too.

I have really started to love eye creams and gels recently, and I am loving trying out some different ones. I started to use eye cream about three years ago but it wasn't necessarily something I'd choose to use everyday. Now though, I use it twice daily as my skin looks and feels so much better when I do.

The Anti-Ageing Firming Eye Cream which you can shop on Natural Elements website here is honestly a dream. It is a product from Natural Element's Luxury Range and is carefully designed with natural ingredients which are guaranteed to turn back the clock and halt unnecessary ageing caused by the elements or simply not hydrating the skin.

"Formulated as an indulgent, 100% Natural Eye Cream enriched with Grapeseed Oil and naturally firming Poppy Seed Extract to eliminate the fine lines, crows feet and dark circles. To encourage age-defying repair, rejuvenation & a stimulation of fibre elasticity this Firming Eye & Decollete Cream has been packed with antioxidants, pantothenic acid and a botanical Vitamin B5 complex." - Natural Elements

"Poppy Seed Extract is a key ingredient in rejuvenating the eyes for a fresher and younger appearance. It's also the ingredient that makes this product a fantastic Neck & Decollete Cream, the lipolytic (fat reducing) activity of Poppy Seed Extract is a natural option for skin firming. The reduction of Lipogenesis (the metabolic formation of fat) and the increase of Lipolysis (breakdown of fatty deposits) has a positive impact on the skin's blood micro-flow which allows for improvement in the elasticity and smoothness of the skin. In short, it gives the skin a face-lift!"

Natural Elements Anti-Ageing Firming Eye Cream  - £30.99

The Pacifying Face Mask with real Cucumber and Kiwi looks unlike any I've seen before as it comes in a glass tube and is clear in appearance. What's great about it is it is effective at cleansing the skin yet it is also balancing this out by actually hydrating it too. It is an anti-ageing and repairing mask which tightens upon skin application. It has astringent properties too which help to stop the skin from sagging.

Summer Essential: "We've also found this to be a great Aftersun alternative for your face and neck! The Celluluse Gel in the mask has the same chemical as Pineapple which is now used in Hospitals to treat major burns." - Natural Elements

 A bit about the ingredients...
Cucumber: Rich in Antioxidants and Vitamins B, B1, B5 to hydrate and brighten skin. Naturally detoxing and reduces swelling.

Kiwi: Rich in Vitamin E to neutralise Free Radicals, firm and soften skin whilst minimising appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

You know when you get back from a holiday and your skin has been through a lot. All the sun, sea, chlorine, sun creams, you name it, your skin's been through it. Well, this incredible Holistic WOW PLUs Kit from Natural Elements has 4 different parts to it which honestly have the power to cleanse, exfoliate, nourish and then feed your skin, to nurture it back to its optimum state of health. By doing these things, the texture, tine and clarity of the skin will also naturally improve tenfold too, so it's a win win!

The kit includes the Clarifying Face Wash, The Konjac Sponge, Holistic Facial Oil and lightweight Blending Cream. The face wash cleanses away daily impurities and hydrates too, leaving skin feeling fresh and ready for the nest step. The Konjac sponge is a natural alternative to a face scrub. You simply run it under warm water and massage over the skin. This helps to renew the skin and leave skin looking radiant and more able to absorb moisturisers. The Holistic Facial Oil will absorb really effortlessly after tis gentle exfoliation and with its triple action complex will brighten the skin.

'Extracts of Peach and Jojoba provide optimal protection against free radical damage, (the cause of premature ageing) whilst uplifting Orange, Grapefruit and Patchouli infuse the formulation into a refreshing tonic, aiding the protective film on the skin’s surface, whilst assisting to banish imperfections and promote cell regeneration, to reveal a radiant looking complexion.'

The Blending Cream is the final stage of this routine and locks in the vitamins and nutrients from the facial oil and has a matte finish too. I think one of the main reasons why people sometimes don't opt for face oil during the day is because it can be greasy but this step solves this concern and also means your skin can be thoroughly hydrated during the day, not just on an evening before bed. The cream also helps to protect the skin from chemical damage which we face daily in the outside environment.

Kit price £53.99

The Rose Tree
I really love aromatherapy and all that it can do to eliminate tension from the body, mind and soul. I also just so happen to adore beautiful apothecary bottles and those things which really make an aesthetic difference to products, so when these products from The Rose Tree arrived, I was truly delighted! A new brand which I haven't reviewed before, The Rose Tree immediately stood out to me for all the right reasons. Their specialist luxury, organic skincare range is kind to every skin type and is designed to enhance your natural beauty so that you look and most importantly, feel your best.

The Ultimate Collection - Radiance Saviour kit (£48.00) is a perfect way to try The Rose Tree's skincare, as it allows you to test a few different products and really give your skin the TLC which is deserves. This particular set is for combination and sensitive skin which can break out. The capsule collection includes the following skincare treats:-

Facial Essence with Rose and Marula - this is specifically designed for sensitive, oily or combination skin types. It effectively hydrates without causing those unwanted breakouts and naturally supports skin prone to acne, and rosacea. Multi-purpose and all natural too! The facial oil gently nourishes, reduces dullness and gives skin a beautiful, radiant glow.

Carrot and Mango Cleansing Butter helps to cleanse the skin without stripping it. I find that cleansing butters are actually more nourishing and add goodness rather than simply take it all away like some cleansers can. Carrot oil helps to nourish and brighten skin which is lacklustre and in need of a 'boost'. It also includes lavender which I adore!

The multiple award wining Intensive Balm with Marshmallow and Frangipani helps plump the skin up without being really heavy. Marshmallow root oil helps maintain skin's hyaluronic acid levels. The product also helps to firm and smooth the skin too. A complete wonder!

You can follow this step with the Rejuvenating Eye Serum for a really luxurious spa at home experience. Rose fruit oil is combined with starflower oil to deliver a rejuvenating and smoothing eye treatment that you will no doubt reach for time and time again!

When it's summer, sometimes it's just nice to treat yourself to some new products which will suit your skin during the warmer months, where it can actually be dried out a bit more than usual, what with going on holiday, plane air (very dehydrating!) and dipping in the pool and sea. The beautiful Soothing Aromatherapy Gift Set is a perfect choice if you love to indulge in a bit on 'me time'. With their award winning soothing bath and shower oil, Soothing Body Oil with Lavender, Geranium and Cypress (made with 93% organic ingredients) and Aromatherapy Roller Ball made with 98% organic ingredients. This set is a wonderful treat for yourself or indeed a loved one. The Rose Tree also pop a little chocolate heart in with your order which is such a lovely touch. By just opening up the box, you can immediately smell all of the wonderful essential oils. These are some of the benefits of the Soothing Aromatherapy Gift Set outlined by The Rose Tree:-

The perfect pampering gift set, for soothing, and relaxing.
Nourish and soften skin with the all around super oil.
The blissful roller ball aids de-stressing on the go.
Includes organic Apricot Oil, Safflower Oil, Calendula Infused Oil and Lavender, Geranium and Cypress essential oils.
Suitable for all skin types

 Shea Moisture
You may have seen Shea Moisture in Boots or online on websites like Feel Unique. Renowned for their skincare, I have been loving the Coconut and Hibiscus Illuminating Body Lotion and Wash. (I love it when I get a set of wash and lotion that 'matches' as it really helps to tie together the whole fragrance and prevent scent clashes I find.)

They smell amazing and are full of skin goodies too! Coconut oil and shea butter both help to moisturise and improve the skin's tone whilst the addition of skin supporting Songyi Mushroom helps to naturally brighten. A cocktail of ingredients which is honestly perfect for helping skin to glow for the summer and have inner radiance and restore any missing hydration too. Perfection in a bottle if you ask me!

PLANT Apothecary
Natural skincare is such a big thing now in the beauty community and rightly so. I recently discovered the innovative PLANT Apothecary and instantly fell in love with their range. Their unisex range is USDA organic, cruelty-free and paraben free. If you like to use a full skincare routine all from one place so that the products harmonise well together, this trio is a good selection to make.

The 'RESET' Rose Geranium and Lemongrass oil-free makeup remover, Aloe and Lemongrass 'Wash Your Face' wash and 'RE: FRESH' Cucumber and Rosewater toner are all organic, soothing and perfect for giving your skin a little boost whenever you need it!

The 'RESET' Rose Geranium and Lemongrass oil-free makeup remover is not only in super sleek and funky packaging, it delivers the results you'd expect from a top quality makeup remover.  It gently and effectively removes even the most stubborn makeup, without any oily residue or toxic chemicals. It is also lightly scented with organic and aromatic fragrant lemongrass and rose geranium (a quintessentially delightful scent!).  For travelling, this is a winner as it's small enough to carry on board a flight too!

Once the make up is off, we need to cleanse. The PLANT Apothecary Aloe and Lemongrass 'Wash Your Face' wash is a gentle and non-skin-stripping face wash for all skin types. I then ALWAYS tone after washing my face and the RE: FRESH Cucumber and Rosewater toning facial mist hydrates and nourishes your skin with soothing cucumber, rosewater, and aloe vera whilst toning and refreshing it with witch hazel and antibacterial lemongrass. It’s the perfect pick-me-up for whenever you need a little boost. It's meant to be great for setting makeup too which is of course an important makeup routine step especially in the summer!

Made by Coopers Apothecary
Sometimes your skin just need some deep nourishment and re-hydration. When we're on holiday, it's a huge mix-up for our skin's PH balance as we are exposing it to all sorts. Sun cream, UVA and UVB light, salty sea water, chlorine pool water, sand, the list could go on. All these things can stress the skin out in different ways and contribute to ageing. Made by Coopers Apothecary have an incredible Superfood Firming Serum which is actually perfect for skin which is dry or mature and could do with some TLC. This serum is handcrafted with a complex blend of bio-active plant oils to instantly firm and regenerate the cells for a bright, youthful, glowing complexion. Some of the goodness includes:-

Pomegranate – High in antioxidants, omega 5 and ellagic acid, which promote collagen and elastin production for brighter, youthful skin.

Chia – Omega rich oil that soothes fine wrinkles and improves skin elasticity.

Broccoli Seed – Rich in vitamin A, C and K. This anti-ageing oil retains moisture and visibly plumps the skin for a youthful appearance.

Baobab – Antioxidant rich oil, fights off free radicals to reduce signs of ageing and promote healthy cell turnover.

Passion Flower – A superior emollient, rich in omega 3, 6 and 9, vitamin C, calcium and phosphorus for nourished skin.

Black Cumin -  Packed with vitamins A, B, and C, potassium and magnesium, for skin recovery and repair.

Spilanthes Acmella Flower - Botanical extract with instant firming effects.

You can shop the Superfood Firming Serum online - Oh and if this wasn't all amazing enough, their products are vegan too!

Sometimes skin is just really dehydrated and it can really do with a top up of moisture either throughout the day or before any moisturiser is even applied so that it is primed and can readily absorb any lotions and potions. The magical Rose Divine Hydrating Facial Mist is a must for anyone who has skin in need of quenching. With a calming blend of botanical waters, specifically to rejuvenate and hydrate tired skin before moisturiser / serum. With aromatic rose (a personal favourite of mine), orange blossom water and chamomile flower water it is also really refreshing for the mind as this aromatherapy blend is great for calming the mind and soothing the senses. Shop the Rose Divine mist here. (note: it also comes in a handy travel size if you want to pack it for a trip abroad!)

Amphora Aromatics
If you've been reading Coconut Couture for a while then you'll already have seen me mention Amphora Aromatics a few times in my various features. The creators of a whole array of beautiful natural skincare treatments, there's no wonder why they are a popular choice for anyone wanting to try out some shiny new products which have nature at their core. I recently received their wonderful Vanilla & Honey Skin Polisher Face Mask, Rose and Frankincense Toner, *NEW* Cucumber and Elderflower Firming Eye Gel and Frankincense and Rose Cleansing Face Gel wash too.

Once or twice a week, it's nice to give yourself the spa life treatment and pop on a facemask. It nourishes and cleanses the skin leaving it healthier looking and clearer. The Vanilla and Honey Face Polisher Mask is a dual action product as its clay base helps to draw out impurities which can lead to nasty breakouts, and the shea butter, honey, jojoba, argan oil and vanilla condition it to leave it feeling soft and smooth to the touch. It also smells sweet and totally delicious so that's another thing to love about it!

I have been using the Cucumber and Elderflower eye gel for a couple of weeks now and I really love it. I have found it to be really cooling, hydrating yet firming (it is for use under the eye) and it really does refresh and revive the skin. I love that it is scent free too as eyes are very sensitive and fragranced products around them don't always feel good. I find that if I use it under my eyes before bed, I wake up looking fresh faced and if I use it in the morning and wear it during the day it plumps up the eye area in a way that both looks radiant and feels really cooling and therapeutic as well.

The Frankincense and Rose Face Gel and Toner is suitable for all skin types. If you are using sun creams, it is advisable to tone before moisturising as some can block the pores and cause unwanted breakouts which isn't ideal. The combination if these two products is a skincare 10/10,especially if you like gentle products which aren't going to strip the skin of all of their natural oils. Plus they smell beautifully fragrant and are perfect for reinvigorating tired skin. Rose is incredibly hydrating and soothing on dry or mature skin too.

Noughty Haircare
Summer hair care is, like skincare, something which needs to be carefully adapted accordingly. In the summer, my hair always needs extra nourishment, especially in the ends as sun exposure can make it feel dry and if not treated, lead to damage and breakage. You will no doubt have read numerous blog features where I have featured Noughty Haircare and talked about the natural plant goodness and ethical nature of their products. If you didn't yet know, all of Noughty's hair care range is 100% vegan and cruelty-free too.

For the summer months, I am loving the *new* Thirst Aid Conditioning and Detangling Spray for frizzy or damaged hair. It is enriched with nourishing sweet almond and argan oil too, both of which help to condition the hair and lock in that all important moisture. Tangles be gone!

A hair care dream team of products

I personally like to style my hair and sometimes I like to have curls. I know most people choose to heat curl their hair but I think this is damaging and inevitably, if you use heat tools on your hair too much, it will break and at the very least be so dry and damaged. I set my curls over night and have been using the 97% natural Wave Hell Curl Defining Taming Cream to do so, as this is helps to control the shape which I am going for and also set and hold the curl too. With the addition of sea kelp and mango butter, this product I find is wonderful at fighting the frizz and leaving my tresses smooth and irresistibly hydrated. Plus it is really simple to use, I simply run it through damp hair and then style as normal.

Suitable for any hair which is in need of a moisture boost, the Intensive Care Leave-In Conditioner with no parabens, petrochemicals, sulphates or silicones is a great option. I like to use it mainly on towel dried hair to lock in conditioning goodies like sweet almond and argan oil but I have also actually found that this works a treat on dried hair too if you need to quickly hydrate the ends or tame flyaways. There is also vitamin E in this product. This helps to protect hair from environmental stressors. Noughty insist on using the naturally occurring version of vitamin E because it’s twice as effective as the synthetic equivalent.

If that wasn't enough hair care goodness, then the Rise and Shine serum is here to help! It's not only a great size for taking away on a two week holiday and sharing it with the girls (capsule beauty packing is key!), it's main abilities include helping the hair to shine and look and feel hydrated. With nourishing Jojoba oil and Kalahari melon, it smells incredible and is currently working wonders for my hair. It's suitable for almost all hair types as it works its magic on normal to dry hair.

Sukin Skincare
If you are looking for a whole collection of products which work to combat a specific kin of skin type or issue, Australia made Sukin has you well and truly covered! I have been trying out their blemish control and oil balancing collections to tackle my skin type. I have naturally oily skin which is many ways is a really good thing. Excess oil can cause blemishes though so that's were these skincare wonders step in. Also, if you are currently searching for some natural skincare, this is a wonderful brand to try, as all of their products are free from harsh chemicals, sulphates, parabens, silicone and synthetic fragrances. Perfect for sensitive skin.

The blemish control range includes their incredibly effective Natural Pore Perfecting Toner which has eucalyptus and crambe oil in it. This is what Sukin has to say about it:-

"Our Pore Perfecting Toner infuses bacteria fighting Eucalyptus and Tea Tree Oil to purify the skin, whilst Quince acts as an astringent, refining the pores and skin texture, while also limiting skin shine! Willowherb naturally helps to reduce the prevalence of acne causing bacteria on the skin."

I have tried lots of skincare and I always find that products that have excess oils in can lead me to have a skin reaction, namely, it causes a breakout which is not ideal at all! The Oil Free Moisturiser is a dream for anyone who suffers from excess oils and blemishes, as the lightweight formula of this moisturiser adds moisture back into the skin after cleansing, without adding shine. Suitable for use in both the morning and at night, it's a step in your skincare routine that will over time transform your skin's health and appearance.

Sukin is also a vegan and carbon neutral brand so it's a strong yes from me!

The Spot Banishing Gel is a fabulous skincare essential which will target specific problem areas (yes, we are talking about those pesky spots!), and it gets to work within 30 minutes of being applied. Powerful enough to take control of spots yet gentle enough to be used twice a day, it's the natural way of tackling a breakout without using skin stripping or excessively drying chemicals which are present within may topical blemish treatments.

"A blend of Willowherb, Quince and Salicylic Acid works to refine the skins texture, improving the appearance of blemishes in just 30 minutes! Willowherb aids in soothing an acne prone skin and controls blemish causing bacteria, while Quince helps to limit pore size and prevents skin shine!"

Now onto the oil balancing collection, which among many wonderful products includes Sukin's Pore Refining Facial Scrub, Purifying Gel Cleanser, Anti-Pollution Facial Mask with Charcoal and their Mattifying Facial Moisturiser. The purpose of this collection is to balance the skin's excess levels of sebum, which is naturally produced in everybody's skin, but for some the over production can cause skin issues.

The natural, oil balancing Purifying Gel Cleanser + Charcoal is enriched with bamboo charcoal (this has powerful absorption properties meaning bye bye shine!) to balance oils and even out the complexion too. The addition of morniga, coconut and willowherb extracts assist in keeping the skin clear, clean and refreshed, which is the key to a healthy complexion. This range is perfect for normal to oily skin types. Followed with the Mattifying Facial Moisturiser which is enriched with rice powder, pomegranate and quince to help promote healthy, balanced and mattified skin, it's a dream team of skincare goodness.

On those days where you are going for a deep skin cleanse, the Pore Refining Scrub and Anti-Pollution Facial Masque (oil balancing + charcoal) are the ultimate choices.

The Anti-Pollution Masque is packed with skin supporting ingredients which naturally enhance the skin's appearance and ultimately leave it cleansed of excess oils and toxins.

"The Charcoal helps absorb toxins and impurities which reveals purified and cleansed skin. Rooibos Tea, Willowherb and Aloe Vera revitalise and refresh blemish prone skin. Our Masque has Quince, Bilberry and Pomegranate Extracts which assist in tightening pores, reducing shine and leaving a balanced complexion. Skin is left moisturised and nourished from Avocado, Coconut and Rosehip Oils."
The Pore Refining Scrub is gentle yet effective. It is actually the most gentle scrub in the collection! I love to use a face scrub about twice a week to just even the skin's tone and eradicate any of that unwanted texture that can occur from product use, make up, general environmental 'debris' and dead skin cells. Polished away, the complexion always looks brighter and more healthy in my opinion.

A bit about the facial scrub...

"Natural exfoliating beads from Jojoba gently polish the skin and bamboo charcoal helps keep pores clear of impurities. With Willowherb, Rooibos Tea and Coconut, the skin is left feeling soothed and hydrated."

Myroo Skincare
Sea Salt and Safflower May Chang body polish. A true aromatherapy delight... If you are looking for a spa in a jar, then this is the answer! You may have previously read my posts where Myroo was featured and I talked about all that their skincare has to offer. From aiding skin recovery to calming redness, Myroo's natural approach to skincare is truly wonderful and all of their products smell so botanical and therapeutic through the use of natural essential oils.

You can use the body polish as bath salts too as they dissolve nicely in warm water, so if your skin needs the benefits of aromatherapy but doesn't need to be scrubbed too much, it doubles well as this! It is nourishing and soothing for the skin with Safflower Oil, Calendula Extract and the amazing smell of May Chang, a sparkly lemon type scent. Delightful!

"Helps protect and repair the skin's natural barrier to the elements. Prevents water loss and helps the skin maintain its natural moisture." - Myroo Skincare

Botanicals
The Gentle Face Polish by Botanicals is a staple of any beauty routine and honestly it's nice to have a couple of different scrubs to alternate between depending upon how 'scrubby' you want the product to be. This one in particular is as the name suggests gentle and of course natural, with botanical plant extracts in it to leave you with a supple and smooth complexion.

Key ingredients (all certified organic): Crushed rosehip, oatmeal, shea butter, virgin coconut oil, marigold, oatmeal, rosehip, lavender, chamomile and mandarin.
