Keeping 2018 In Balance: A Guide To Staying On Track

Today I thought I would share a blog post on ensuring that you keep 2018 on track. With the rush of enthusiasm that so many people have for making New Year's resolutions, many of which inevitable fall through early into January, I wanted to share a few of my own tips for keeping your year going the way you envisioned it. Of course, it may not always be possible to stick with certain plans, and that is okay. But I believe that is good to take stock of your progress thus far into 2018 to see what kind of inroads you've made, assess and then go forward with them, either as you already were, or with a few helpful tweaks and changes which will help your goals to really take off and leave you saying 'Wow, 2018 really was a happy and successful year!'

As far as resolutions go, I know people like to start a new year with them, but I personally think that a resolution can be made at any point in time, to improve yourself going forward. Most of the traditional ones revolve around being healthier and kicking bad habits which is obviously great for self development and being the kind of person that you want to be. With Dry January been and gone, the odd tipple may have crept its way back into people's weekly routines. This is all well and good, but sometimes it can be nice to have a 'Detox Week' whereby you switch the fizzy stuff for a fruity assortment instead, without the booze and without the headache the following day. I've mixed up a mocktail of sorts below, that you can give a whirl if you're having friends around one night and you fancy staying away from the alcohol for the night, in line with keeping to that New Year's resolution.

 Iced Cherry Mixer
1 x 200ml bottle of Pago Cloudy Cherry Juice
A good handful of icecubes
A few sprigs of fresh mint

Optional
A slice of lemon for zingy zest

1. Add the chilled cherry juice to the glass.

2. Follow this by adding in lots of ice and then adorn with the fresh mint sprigs and lemon.

3. Serve up and enjoy. You can check out the full fruity Pago range online here.

Kicking A Bad Habit For Good
In the New Year, a very popular resolution is to give up smoking to be healthier and it also has significant financial benefits too. We all know how damaging the effects of smoking can be to our physical health, as well as to the health of those who are around us, so if there is a time to quit, it really is now.

From affecting your skin's bright and youthful appearance and making it look grey and older from the deconstruction of elastin and collagen in the body, as well as the lack of oxygen which it is able to receive, damage to your eyes and hair, to causing life threatening illnesses, the ingredients found in tobacco are a total health nightmare! Nicotinell is a company who specialise in helping people to actively quit smoking for good. It can be really difficult in the early stages but their helpful guidance and specialised products can make the whole process a lot smoother and more manageable. You can learn more about them and stop smoking here.

Taking Some Time To Rebalance Yourself
There are so many great and totally simple ways which you can relax and rebalance yourself after a busy day at university or work. It may be by having a candle lit bath (always lovely!), playing your favourite song and dancing around to it or giving your pet some love and attention. No matter what it is, if it's a healthy, positive thing and enhances your state of being, then you should go for it.

So there you have it, a few quick tips to ensure you are on top of 2018 and making sure that you are staying on track, no matter what your plans, aspirations and yearly goals are! Will you be using any of these tips? Let me know! Bilgi  x
