The Ultimate Autumn Skincare, Haircare & Beauty Guide

So we have officially said our farewells to the fleeting season of Summer and you wouldn't be the only person to be wondering 'Did summer even happen this year?' because it arrived and left in a blissful ice cream enrobed, May afternoon sunshine drenched, holiday hopping hot minute but that is okay, because now we are officially gliding seamlessly into the all-changing, ever magical season of Autumn and her crunchy umber leaves, misty mornings and smoky skies. There's a certain romantic notion which goes with such a seasonal change and one which I fully like to indulge. *Queue the cosy knits, dreamy window gazes and flickering of 100 scented candles*.

I also love to ensure that I make some changes to my skincare and beauty routine as hydration is a must as we step into a colder day to day weather front. I have been trying so many wonderful new beauty pieces recently and here they are for you to browse, shop and treat yourself to this October.

You may have previously read my really popular Luxury Mothers' Day Gift Guide and my Radiance Awaits: The Best Summer Holiday Skincare Essentials a few months ago, which features so many amazing skincare and beauty products too. If you haven't seen that post, you can check it out here.

KISS Products and ImPRESS Manicure

ImPRESS Manicure do beautifully decorative yet super easy to apply press on nails and let me tell you, they're beautiful. Their designs are classy, sophisticated and the variety of styles and designs is mind blowing, so no matter what mood you're in or which vibe you feel like rocking, there's a design waiting to up your manicure game to a 10. Check out ImPRESS Manicure and the ImPRESS Manicure Hottest New Arrivals.

You know what they say, it's not a look without a lash and never has a truer word been spoken. There's an instant 'va va voom' that is brought to a look when you add some lashes and the beautiful Lash Couture range by Kiss is a lash lover's dream! I was kindly sent the styles 'Midnight' and 'Gala' and they have a certain allure that honestly raises any makeup look. You can also check out my recent Halloween Makeup Tutorial here - I used some of the KISS Lashes in my Cosmic Kitty makeup look and LOVED the effect.

Weleda Skinfood
The Weleda Skinfood range is perfect for the Autumn / Winter season. If you're looking to banish dry lips, I can't recommend the Weleda Skin Food lip balm highly enough as it is so nourishing and hydrating. Unlike some lip products which sit on top of your lips, leaving them still feeling dry or chapped, I have found that this particular one really absorbs in and leaves my lips feeling plumped up, nourished and hydrated. Perfect for the cold weather that is en route and to be honest, already making a bit of an appearance! (When I have been leaving the gym on an evening, it's usually dark and there is a definitive nip to the air, so that classes as the end of summer in my books!).

The Skin Food rich, intensive care cream is Weleda's original miracle cream specifically for dry, rough skin. It contains extracts from chamomile, pansy and calendula to nourish and relieve dry skin. Plus it's multi-functional as it can be used on the face or the body, so it's perfect for packing for any Autumn / Winter mini-breaks to Oktoberfest or Christmas markets abroad!

Odlyique

If you're a fan of organic skincare, then let me introduce you to your new best friends. Odylique, a 100% cruelty free brand, have a fabulous collection of skincare and it's natural and gently formulated with skincare goodness that's guaranteed to add value to your skin's appearance and help it to feel supple and healthy.

I have been trying a few different products from their collection and I am really impressed with not only how gentle the products are but also how effective they have been at hydrating my skin and making it look and feel fab! The Lemon and Tea Tree Purifying Wash is amazingly good at harmonizing skin that can be oily and blemish prone and the toner which works so well with it is the Balancing Citrus Super Tonic which is really gentle, has a lovely light aroma. In the summer or on days where your skin is particularly oily, it can even act as a moisturiser as well, as it is packed with skincare qualities that mean it can cleanse, tone and hydrate simultaneously!

"This extra-strength tonic is undiluted with water and contains our concentrated distillation rose petal hydrolat, fortified with a blend of upliftingly fragrant essential oils which are highly effective at toning, regulating sebum production and refining the texture of normal, oily or combination skin."

I have also been trying out three of Odylique's creams including the Organic Timeless Rose Moisturiser - It of course has that signature rose scent which is so dreamy and classic, I personally adore it. This cream, like all the creams from Odylique sinks into the skin so effortlessly and leaves your skin nourished, and because it is so gentle, it can be used as an eye cream too, which is amazing as not many creams can claim to be suitable as an eye cream as well as a face cream product! It includes active ingredients like rose water, rosehip and sea buckthorne. A dream indeed!

The Avocado 24-Hour Replenishing Cream is multi-functional and works both for day or night use. Enriched with so many natural oils and skin saviours, it's no wonder it's made my skin look plumped up and radiant from the moment I apply it!

"Avocado 24-Hour Replenishing Cream is a sumptuous night moisturiser or rich day cream with nature's finest contribution to smoothing out lines. Select extracts of sea buckthorn and horsetail help promote skin regeneration while nourishing cold-pressed avocado and olive oils provide protein, minerals and anti-oxidant vitamins. This moisturiser is perfect for normal to dry skin or mature skin, and to protect from free radical generation. The heavenly blend of essential oils including lavender, frankincense, bergamot and ylang ylang has balancing, cell-regenerating and relaxing qualities, making this ideal either as a night cream or face cream for dry skin."

I have also been trying out their Organic Repair Lotion which is specifically for those with dry or sensitive skin. Suitable for use anywhere on the body or face, it's a go-to product that delivers every time and it a beauty staple. It's also suitable for vegans.

S5 Skincare
If you've been reading Coconut Couture for a while, you will no doubt already know that I love S5 Skincare and all of their amazing products, the ingredients for which are sourced from some of the harshest climates on the planet. You can read more about S5 Skincare in this post I previously wrote as well. I was kindly sent their Purity Serum and Serenity Cream too, both unique and amazingly effective skincare products that have made a positive difference to my skin.

The Purity Serum is a powerhouse of anti-blemish, bioactive ingredients which cleanse the skin to prevent harmful, blemish causing bacteria to cause any issues. Breakouts happen but they don't need to be happening all that often if you really cleanse and nourish your skin with products which actually tackle the main cause of them. The Purity Serum includes:-

A targeted blemish control serum designed for skin prone to blemishes and open pores.

Rainforest Copaiba, Andiroba and Acai to reduce the appearance of blemishes and balance oil.

Alpine Epilobium which balances oil production and reduces the appearance of pores.

Willow Bark which clarifies congested pores and boosts exfoliation.

All of the ingredients in the full S5 Skincare range are sourced naturally and contain ingredients which are from harsh natural environments including the dessert, arctic, marine, high-altitude and rainforest, so they have powerful skincare properties which make them a wonder for the complexion.

The Serenity Cream is a great anti-redness cream (£46.00) and is also anti-ageing and good for hydrating and calming sensitive skin which is prone to redness. It has some incredible natural extracts in it including:

Prickly Pear Cactus Extract: soothes, hydrates and firms.

Extreme Protection Complex: defends against pollution and stress-related ageing.

Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid: hydrates, soothes and plumps up the appearance of wrinkles.

It's a skincare dream and is perfect for smoothing out the skin and making it not only look beautiful but feel good as well. Perfection!

Evolve Organic Beauty
Natural face and body care is what Evolve Organic Beauty do best. They take fabulous natural ingredients and whirl them together to create the skincare concoction of dreams and one of my best moisturisers is made by them and I use it almost every day, it's that good! Most recently though, I have been trying out their Miracle Mask which is packed full of brightening and exfoliating goodness. It includes fruit extracts and Peruvian Maca and is a luscious consistency with a totally natural, fruity aroma. It's one of the most gentle facemasks I have tried as it doesn't dry down into a rigid 'mask', it instead absorbs into your skin and leaves it feeling super nourished. I like to use it weekly for a 'hydration shot' when my skin needs it most.

Another current product that I have been loving is the African Orange Aromatic Lotion with Blood Orange and Cedarwood. Suitable for use on the hands or whole body, it's a citrusy dream with a super nourishing effect.

"A delightfully hydrating lotion to moisturise hands and body. Organic Shea Butter nourish and soften the skin whilst Aloe Vera calms irritation. Delicately fragranced with warming blood orange and vanilla, with notes of spicy black pepper and cedarwood, this beautiful organic hand and body lotion leaves skin perfectly comforted and soft."

It has a really delicate scent that is fresh yet sweet, subtle yet present enough to keep your senses uplifted for the whole day and that's why I love it. It is such a perfect, seasonal scent and for AW19, I can't think of anything more seasonal than that aromatic orange aroma!

Mariana London
I love supporting artisan brands and I was sent three bars of Mariana London's handmade soap recently, which honestly are so dreamy!

Available in Lavender and May Chang, Rose Geranium and Bergamot and Lemongrass and Peppermint, then soaps are delightfully scented and are perfect if you are looking to reduce your environmental impact by cutting down on plastic use in product packaging, as a soap bar is plastic free and they are made from pure, natural ingredients! You can check out Mariana London online here and shop the collection.

MilkShake Haircare
If you like super moisturised hair that not only looks and feels super healthy but also smells a-m-a-z-i-n-g then let me introduce you to MilkShake Haircare. A brand that I have been loving for years and honestly I am so impressed by, they create some of the nicest haircare out there and it always with the best results. Most recently, I was sent the Moisture Plus Shampoo, Conditioner and Moisture Plus Lotion. which I'm going to tell you all about. This whole collection is infused with natural organic papaya extract and hyaluronic acid for age and also colour protection for your hair. The range is also paraben and sles free so it's way better for your hair than other less natural products. Perfect for dry hair or any that has been frazzled with over styling and heat / UV rays during those long summer holidays (yes even hair can get sun damaged!)

I was super intrigued by the hydrating lotion for hair as I hadn't ever tried anything like this before. All individually tubed in the correct proportions to ensure maximum gloss, the concentrated lotion gives softness and manageability to dry hair, maintaining the hair's optimal moisture balance. This leaves the hair visibly healthy, soft and shiny. Plus it's so easy to use. You simply apply the contents of a whole tube over clean, damp hair and focus it mainly on the lengths and ends that rarely see moisture. You then leave it on for about 5 minutes and rinse it before proceeding with your desired styling. A shot of shine for your hair and a total dream product in my books!

If you are all about that super glossy look, then you have got to try the colour whipped cream by MilkShake haircare that you leave in after you've washed out your conditioner and treatments. I was sent one of the brunette editions and it is a total dream! It has cold brunette colouring in it and for added hair lustre it has added milk proteins to give more shine and this actually helps to restructure the hair as well. It's best applied to clean, damp hair and worked evenly through and followed by styling. It's an amazing leave in conditioner and it is really well worth trying out if you're a brunette like me. It is also available in 7 brand new shades so there's actually a colour to suit every hair colour! You can check out the MilkShake Colour Whipped Cream range here.

And finally from the MilkShake haircare collection, we have the Lifestyling Thermo-Protector which is a total must have if you apply any form of heat to your hair. With the addition of quinoa proteins, this ultra fine formula is created to protect your hair from root to tip from blow-drying, curlers and straightening irons. It adds a protective layer to the hair and is fab for preventing split ends which can be a side effect of heat related styling. A true hair essential and a total 'add to shopping basket' purchase as we speed along to the Christmas party season when no doubt we'll all be styling our hair a couple of times a week at least!

The Rose Tree
If you've bee reading my blog this year, you'll have no doubt read about my love for The Rose Tree, a totally wonderful, all natural beauty and skincare brand which was founded by Olga and which produces the most divine body care and face skincare. Their specialist luxury, organic skincare range is kind to every skin type and is designed to enhance your natural beauty so that you look and most importantly, feel your best. For the A/W, I can think of nothing more wonderful than enveloping myself in their Soothing Body Oil made with Geranium, Cypress and Lavender. It's a dry oil too which means you feel nourished and your skin hydrated, not oily at all which is perfect. The scent is natural and subtle, but enough to help you really feel soothed inside and out.

~ You can shop the Soothing Body oil here ~

For Autumn, and in fact any season, I like to make sure that I have something which adds instant harmony in by beauty routine. On this occasion, it is The Rose Tree's Calming Aromatherapy Roller Ball with Rose and Ylang Ylang. This amazing 'pop it in your bag and go' product is delicately made using jojoba oil and with its ability to quickly absorb, it enables you to have a moment of 'me time' whenever you require it, may it be at the office or between errands when you feel you're running around without a moment to spare. (They are also the perfect size to be stocking fillers! - Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for my upcoming Christmas Gift Guide in the coming weeks too!) You can shop it here.

Shea Moisture
Such a fitting duo of products to be writing about here on Coconut Couture, the 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Daily Hydration Body Wash and Body Lotion are an utter delight.

Firstly, I love the sweet, tropical scent of coconut and the fact that it is actually Fair Trade makes it all the better. The luxurious blend of coconut water, oil and milk all combine harmoniously together to moisturise and soften the skin. It is also a range that's suitable for all skin types as it is really gentle! I absolutely love having a duo of products that are scented the same as it makes me feel fresh and fragrant and I love that. This collection gives me wonderful summer vibes, which now we're not seeing so much sunshine here in the UK, is an absolutely great thing as I can essentially keep the summer going in a small way by using these everyday!

Noughty Haircare
A vegan and cruelty-free brand with a heart, there really isn't a day that goes by without me dipping into some of my Noughty Haircare collection. Full of products that can nourish and condition your hair, as well as others that will cleanse and soothe it, there are products for every hairtype and haircare requirement within their diverse and dynamic haircare range.

For Autumn, I am loving the Thirst Aid Spray. It is a Conditioning and Detangling Spray for frizzy or damaged hair and it is enriched with nourishing sweet almond and argan oil too, both of which help to condition the hair and lock in that all important moisture. Tangles be gone and smooth hair come at me! (I usually sprits some onto my hands and sleek it over my hair if I am wearing a bun for the gym for example, as it helps to achieve that smooth, frizz free look. Other times I spritz it all over as it's really conditioning and smells great, like hair perfume which is actually conditioning too! Win win!)

The To The Rescue Intensive Conditioner Mask and everyday Conditioner are both perfect for Autumn / Winter too as they lock in hydration and moisture when the weather is cold and trying to dry out our hair and make it feel weaker and brittle.

With these products being moisture focused, they help to make hair shiny, smooth and have that irresistibly soft to the touch texture which is always a good thing. I particularly love using the mask as a haircare boost, as it is so rich in formula and it always feels like it does my hair good! This is what Noughty has to say about this collection in their range:-

"Noughty’s knight in shining armour comes charging to the rescue with sweet almond sunflower seed and shea butter to transform dry, frizzy and damaged hair. Noughty’s 97% natural moisture boosting range helps to leave hair intensely nourished, super strong, and ready for the next round of mischief. Go on, get Noughty."

1 Hit Wonder is a perfect solution for those days you have a need for speed! Everything your hair could require, packed into one potent little bottle of vegan haircare delight, it thoroughly cleanses and simultaneously hydrates to leave your hair looking and feeling in tip top condition. Enriched with sweet almond and castor oils, it's perfect for fragile and overworked hair.

"This 97% natural, non-foaming co-wash with fewer surfactants, uses a conditioning base to attract and absorb excess oils. The plant oils blend with the natural oils produced by the scalp, collecting up the grime and residues, gently removing impurities without drying or stripping hair."
