Afternoon Tea at Wynyard Hall for Mother's Day

Afternoon tea is one of my favourites booshie treats, it effectively combines both tea and cake so honestly what’s not to completely adore? I’d say this love has well and truly come from my Mum, so for Mother’s Day last Sunday, I could think of nothing she’d enjoy more on a sunny March afternoon than sipping tea somewhere lavish, in this instance the ornately exquisite Wynyard Hall.

If you’ve been reading Coconut Couture for a while, then my love for tea will have come as no surprise as you’d have seen my previous afternoon tea blog features including a Festive Afternoon Tea Experience at Wynyard Hall which I attended before. Needless to say they were both amazing. Read on to find out more...

Upon our arrival, we first had a meander through Wynyard Hall's grounds to admire their beautiful gardens and look at the collection of stunning interior d├ęcor which is in The Glasshouse.

We then went into the hall to commence the tea and all the bountiful good stuff which comes with an afternoon tea! We were very excited!...

We opted for a vegetarian afternoon tea each and it was a delight. The halloumi and pickled red pepper flatbread sandwiches were really yummy but my favourite savoury thing, besides the fresh cheese and asparagus tartlet was the Mediterranean pastry with seasoned vegetables, delicious!

We all know that the sweet stuff is the best and the selection we were presented with did not disappoint. Fruity scones with jam and cream (or cream and jam... you decide), a light lemon dessert with fluffy cream and raspberry pieces, a unbelievable caramel slice and decadent peach macaroon, the choice was plentiful and we were so well supplied we had to take a selection home to share! I opted for Earl Grey tea and my mum went for a summer berry variety and a light variety of tea called white needle which has a delicate flavour and aroma. If there’s tea involved, I’m happy so I was well and truly in my element.

Oh and did I mention we (well, I as I wasn't the designated driver!) had processco too?! *hic*

We loved our Mother’s Day afternoon tea and Wynyard Hall. I’d recommend afternoon tea at Wynyard Hall for a special occasion or just because you feel like being a bit little bit 'extra'! Book your afternoon tea here. Have you ever visited Wynyard Hall before? Let me know! Bilgi x
