A Birthday Break To 'Peebles Hydro Hotel and Spa', Scotland

For my birthday this year, a Scottish staycation was on the cards and a wonderful trip to spa hotel Peebles Hydro was the location of choice! Located only about 50 minutes away from Edinburgh city centre, Peebles Hydro spa hotel offers fantastic relaxation facilities for anyone in need of some rest and recuperation and a break from work.
I firstly loved the way our room was both decorated in natural sage tones and with a fabulous view over the hotel's grounds and overlooking the hills beyond. Our room had a corridor that lead in from the door, with a spacious bathroom on the right and the room up ahead. Peebles Hydro also uses Aarran of Scotland bath and shower products, which are truly lovely and fragranced with botanicals native to rural Scotland. Truly lovely!
The hotel has a really lovely pool and jacuzzi, as well as a sauna and steam room where you can venture to unwind and ease away any tensions. They also have a fab games room where we enjoyed playing some table tennis and the bar is truly lovely too, with a cosy and inviting log burning fire and sports playing, making it a perfect place to enjoy a nice cocktail and take in the surrounding atmosphere.

We stayed at Peebles Hydro for two nights and on the day before heading back upto Durham, we enjoyed a day out in Edinburgh. I hadn't been to Edinburgh so early in the year before and it was really lovely, it truly is a city worth visiting at all times of the year and throughout all seasons. We went to Scran Bistro in the afternoon for nutella and strawberry pancakes and tea, which was so delicious. We also went to Rios Steak House for dinner which was such a fun and unique experience!
