Achieving A Minimalist Yet Cosy Room Aesthetic

Today's post is a bit of a different one, but one which I've been meaning to post on my blog for a little while now. Recently, I did a bit of a full room make-over to really utilise my space more efficiently and also maximise the space I have, so I thought it would be nice to share that with those of you who are currently thinking of curating your own homes a bit differently too. Of course, over the summer months is a perfect time to do any interior décor alterations that you're thinking about as it's warmer so painting isn't an issue. (Nobody likes to freeze their house out in November!). So without further ado, I'll show you how I've laid out my bedroom to make it zen and also a flawlessly tidy haven to escape to!

I added some cushions (a total must even if you have to rearrange them daily!) and fairy lights as honestly, they always look beautiful and it's always been a vibe that has appealed to me. They also have about 8 different settings so you can have them on still, gently twinkling or set them to full on rave mode as well as everything in between!

I also invested in some chic new minimalist furniture as I needed extra storage for makeup and beauty bits and pieces. Also, the addition of a desk / make-up table is perfect for my blogging set up.

For me, I love a chic minimalist aesthetic with clean lines and white accessories, but it's a bedroom and got to feel comforting and homely. I added a few room accessories to spruce up the look, including this beautiful Spiced Noir candle by one of my absolute favourite candle companies, Taylor Benfield.

"Our luxury scented Spiced Noir candles are inspired by the invigorating scents of Malaysia and the exotic fragrances of Indonesia. They remind us of the dark musky fragrances of the sophisticated neighbourhoods of Paris, London and New York. A powerful combination of wood and spice, to stimulate the senses."

Head Notes – Pink Pepper, Cardamom, Thyme, Frankincense
Heart Notes – Clove, Patchouli, Lily, Plum, Raspberry
Base Notes – Tobacco, Cedar wood, Guaiacwood

You may have see my post talking about their candles before in a gift guide, and honestly if you're looking for a room accent like a candle, I can't recommend their scents highly enough. Sophisticated and inviting, this fragrance and look is everything and more that I personally could want in a candle.

Fact: candles draw the energy in a room to a focus point and help to induce feelings of calm and serenity.

I also have a small succulent plant and some small, framed designs as the add small decorative touches which I think draw a room together nicely.

I've just returned from an incredible trip to Sant'Agnello in the Campania region of South West Italy. I have been learning Italian and in any room, I feel that books are an essential. I actually created some Instagram TV videos which you can watch too. They include:-

So there you have it, a 'flick book' feature on how I've styled up a room in my house and made it effortlessly chic yet completely functional. Have you got any summer home improvement plans this summer? If so what are they? Bilgi   x
